How to prepare for each lecture

Before each lecture, study the corresponding sections in the text and fill in all definitions and properties left blank in the notes.

Practice exercises

They are not to be handed in. However, you need to do all the exercises (and more) listed at the end of each section to understand the material and keep up with the course. When you feel that it is easy, it will not take long to do. When you feel it is hard, you really need the practice to prepare for the tests. When you come to my office hour, I will often ask to see the practice you have done to help you understand how your current question is similar to the ones you have just practiced. Therefore, keep all your solutions clearly labelled together in a binder for easy reference.
