The Faux Arts Trio

The Faux Arts Trio comprises three amateur musicians:

• David Thomas, violin,
• Bodil Toftdahl, cello, and
• Lily Yen, piano,

based in Burnaby, B.C., Canada.

Since we began playing together in November of 2006, we have had great fun playing

• Beethoven:
  • Trio, opus 1 no. 3.
  • The Archduke Trio, opus 97.
  • The Ghost Trio, opus 70-1.
• Mendelssohn:
  • Trio no. 1, opus 49.
• Bruch:
  • Nachtgesang, opus 83, no. 6.

In addition, we have sight-read through

• Rachmaninoff:
  • Trio Élégiaque, opus 9.
• Schubert:
  • Trio in D-flat major, opus 99, D 898.
• Beethoven:
  • Trio no. 4, opus 11.
  • Trio no. 8.

We have performed for family and friends, church and royalty.

Currently we are looking at Mozart’s Trio no. 8, K.V. 442.
